Balancing Life Like a Pro: Faith, Fatherhood, Pickleball
Faith | Fatherhood | Pickleball
Hey everyone!
It’s been a busy week, but one thing I’m grateful for—no work travel! Finally feels good to enjoy a weekend at home. I’ve been soaking up the time with my daughter, catching up with friends, and, of course, handling the most important task of all—kindergarten homework (seriously, who knew writing numbers and letters could be such a workout for both of us?).
In between that, I managed to post a thread on X this past week that hit close to home
🧵 Balancing a full-time job, a side hustle, a consistent workout routine, and being a single dad? It sounds impossible, right? WRONG. This is your chance to prove that you can do it all—no excuses, no shortcuts. Here’s how to master the balancing act and thrive.
1 | Stop believing the myth that you can’t have it all. You CAN balance work, your side hustle, fitness, and fatherhood—but only if you commit to being relentless. Excuses are for those who aren’t willing to put in the work. You’re better than that.
2 | Time management isn’t optional; it’s your lifeline. Every minute counts. Schedule everything—work, workouts, side hustle tasks, and quality time with your kid. If it’s not on the calendar, it doesn’t happen. Treat your time like the precious resource it is.
3 | Early mornings are your secret weapon. The world is quiet, your child is asleep, and the distractions are few. Use this time to work out, plan your day, or knock out tasks for your side hustle. Own the morning, own the day.
4 | Be present wherever you are. When you’re at work, give it your all. When you’re with your child, be fully there. No multitasking, no half-measures. Your presence is your superpower—use it wisely.
5 | Fitness isn’t just physical—it’s mental. A consistent workout routine isn’t a luxury; it’s a necessity. Your body fuels your mind. Strong body, strong mind, strong dad. Make time to train, even if it means cutting out other distractions.
6 | Your side hustle is your ticket to freedom—don’t neglect it. Treat it like a business, not a hobby. Set clear goals, track your progress, and put in the hours. This is your path to financial independence and the life you want for your child.
7 | Embrace the grind but cherish the moments. Life as a single dad is tough, but the rewards are priceless. Celebrate the little victories—whether it’s a completed project, a great workout, or a meaningful moment with your child. You’re building something incredible.
8 | Stop waiting for balance—create it. Balance isn’t something you find; it’s something you make. It’s not about having equal time for everything, but about giving your best to what matters most in each moment. Balance is a choice. Make it.
9 | Rest isn’t weakness; it’s strategy. You can’t pour from an empty cup. Schedule downtime to recharge, reflect, and reconnect with your purpose. A well-rested dad is a better dad, a better worker, and a better hustler.
10 | You’re doing the impossible—own it. Balancing a full-time job, side hustle, workout routine, and fatherhood is no small feat. You’re proving every day that it can be done. Keep pushing, keep grinding, and remember—you’ve got this.
You are the example your child looks up to. Show them what it means to work hard, stay disciplined, and never back down from a challenge.
I also had the chance to chat on the Dads with Mics podcast recently—talking all things pickleball and single fatherhood. It was a great convo, and if you want to check it out, here’s the link: Dads with Mics Podcast. I'm all about being a positive voice for single dads, helping us manage time and go after our goals while being present with our kids.
And of course, Pickleball Tip of the Week time! Let’s talk about the forehand flick:
Use your wrist to flick from below net level.
Extend your arm into the kitchen for max reach.
Drop your paddle tip low and whip through the ball for more power and control.
That’s it for this week! Keep pushing, keep grinding, and keep loving the journey. Whether it’s mastering a new pickleball shot, knocking out some homework with your kid, or just finding balance in the chaos—you’re doing amazing.
Catch you next week,
Bryant
