Building, becoming, and (trying to) slow down
Still chasing peace... but doing it with purpose (and racquets)
Hey friends 👋
First off — welcome to all the new folks who’ve joined the squad.
Whether you're here for the pickleball/padel tips, the fatherhood feels, or the faith-fueled perspective… you're in the right place.
It’s been a couple of weeks since my last note — life has been full lately.
Between work travel, dad life, content, and everything in between... let’s just say this season has been fast-paced. But also fulfilling.
🎥 Content Grind Continues
Still staying focused on creating helpful and honest content — both in pickleball and padel.
The content machine has stayed alive thanks to planning ahead and staying consistent, even when energy is low and the days are stacked.
I’m stoked to share that I’ll be partnering with a friend here in Austin to bring courses to life soon — starting with pickleball, and then padel shortly after.
This is something I’ve wanted to do for a while but didn’t have the bandwidth on my own. Now, with the right support and vision, it’s happening.
If you’re someone who’s been wanting to level up your game, or even help someone else grow theirs — I think these are gonna be 🔥.
🎾 Padel Feels Like Coming Home
Padel continues to feel more and more like home to me.
It brings me back to my old tennis tournament days — the grind, the battles, the desire to get better and learn.
Right now, I just wish there was a bit more time to actually get out there and practice — to get in those reps and build more confidence on the court.
But between work, parenting, and building these courses… that’s where the focus has to be for now.
Still, I look forward to carving out those blocks of time during the week when I can lace up, hit the court, and keep growing in the game. It’s coming.
🌱 Personal Growth + Purpose Work
A couple of weeks ago, I sat down with a good friend and did the Ikigai exercise — it’s a Japanese concept about discovering your reason for being.
After two hours of working through it, we landed on two words that stood out:
Inner peace.
That hit me.
Not because I feel like I’ve totally mastered it — in fact, I’ve been wrestling with peace lately. Always in a hurry. Always chasing the next thing.
But maybe that’s exactly why I’m so drawn to it.
And I’ve noticed this pattern:
The more spiritually grounded I am — through prayer, conversation with God, surrender — the more peace I experience.
That can’t be a coincidence.
I just picked up a book that speaks directly to this — The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry.
Can’t wait to break into it. Will let you know how it goes.
🧠 What I’m Wrestling With
Even in seasons of growth and clarity — I still feel the tension of always being “on.”
If you’ve ever struggled with feeling like you have to earn your rest… I see you.
If you’re someone who’s chasing goals but also trying to stay grounded in your faith, your values, your relationships… I see you too.
We’re in this together. And I’m grateful to have this space where I can share honestly and invite you into the journey.
